Mold Damage – Knoxville Home

Mold damage to this Knoxville home was discovered when SERVPRO of Rocky Hill / Sequoyah Hills / South Knoxville was called in to address a water damage situation in the attic and ceiling of this home. We needed to tear out the damaged drywall and set up a containment area to keep the moisture and mold spores from disbursing throughout the house while we remediated the water and mold damage. We set up an exhaust dehumidification rig to dry out the timbers in the attic and channel moisture and mold spores to the exterior of the home. It took several days to dry out the attic. We monitored the moisture levels regularly and cleaned the mold contamination with SERVPRO products and procedures. Finally, we treated the affected area with an antimicrobial substance to thwart any future mold growth.
