Our Team Meets and Prepares for the Trip to Houston to Help Flood Victims

SERVPRO of Rocky Hill/Sequoyah Hills/South Knoxville Responds to the Emergency Storm Damage in Houston

The aftermath of the Houston area storm necessitated massive outside emergency measures to protect life and property. Our office received a call yesterday afternoon from a SERVPRO Storm Team asking if we were able to "Help Houston." As you know, Houston Texas has been hit with record rainfall and devastated with floodwaters. The NOAA noted this storm was a 1-in-200 year event. When 9.92" of rain fell on April 18, 2016, it was the second heaviest rainfall ever recorded at Houston Intercontinental Airport.

Members of our crew went to the Jersey Shore to help Super Storm Sandy victims. They served and aided thankful residents for six weeks. We understand the kind of help they needed. We loaded up and headed that way.

At our 7 A.M. meeting, some our Storm Team-1 crew from SERVPRO of Rocky Hill/Sequoyah Hills/ South Knoxville hold a debriefing prior to loading equipment and hitting the road. Participating members include:
Chuck P. Storm Team Commander on the far left directs the meeting.
Rocky G. Storm Team Coordinator
Tim V. Storm Team Production Manager
Casin C. Senior Storm Team Crew Chief
Brian G. Storm Team Technician
Scott R. Storm Team Technician
Sean G. Storm Team First Responder/Estimator - Commerical Division.

We have plenty of crews and equipment heading to help. Don't worry about us locally. We have 27 employees working here at SERVPRO of Rocky Hill/Sequoyah Hills/ South Knoxville, we can take care of any size disaster we may be called upon for emergency help. The insert in the photo shows some of our team after debriefing as we are stocking the Emergency Response Trailer. Our Storm troopers are heading out to Houston. Pray, light a candle, or share a moment of silence for the people who are suffering from the damage to their homes, businesses, and lives. Statistics show that 50% of companies go out of business when a disaster like this occurs. The key is, knowing who to call, who can handle the work and who can get you back to business quicker and keep you in business while you are drying out. Also, pray for our storm teams that they stay safe as they travel and seek to help make a difference.

Our SERVPRO of Rocky Hill/Sequoyah Hills/South Knoxville franchise is pleased to not only serve our local communities but also be there when others are suffering. "One of life's greatest privileges is to help others in their time of need," said Kristina Greenway of SERVPRO of Rocky Hill/Sequoyah Hills/ South Knoxville.
